And in more sad news, a Buddha got blown up in Swat, very sad, only the Indian Newspapers are carrying it,

foreign newspapers and all only carrying Musharraf rathole crap.

SWAT Buddha is blown up from Times of India, who also I cant seem to avoid bashing, but I will link to other news sites if I can open their reports like NDTV and the Hindu which is a very good paper, even if it sounds like the CSM which is also a very good newspaper and non parochial.

from the TOI report
Swat, falling in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province, has a priceless Buddhist heritage. The Harmarajika stupa in Taxila and Butkarha stupa in Swat were among the earliest stupas of Gandhara — an ancient kingdom consisting of modern-day Peshawar, Taxila, Swat and, according to some historians, parts of Kashmir. These stupas had been erected on the orders of Emperor Ashoka and contained real relics of the Buddha. The Gandhara school is credited with the first representation of the Buddha in human form.

They quote Visakha Desai and Adriana Prosper of Asia Society.

Please read the whole thing.

Here is the google news link

Day of sorrow and horror, Taliban just as big idiots now as in 2001.

Plus it shows that the NE was hinduist and Buddhist for a long time and Mooslams only showed up in the last 900 years, very interesting, wherever they show up, they try to eradicate all who went before, including like in Bali, where the johhnny come latelys try to eradicate all signs of the Hindu vibrant culture of half naked chicks, which is a proud heritage BTW.

In fact, the Pakistan web site for Sindh used to boast, I havent checked lately, but it used to boast that Sindh became MUSLIM in yadda yadda.

No mention of the forced migrations, arson and genocidal postures that eradicated Hindus and Sufis and Sikhs from Sindh and Punjab, not to mention a nasty jerry rigged, gerrymandered poll of sorts.

Just a reminder, peeps, we still suffering.

Bye bye

OK, I was a little too grumpy with Roger Cohen, suddenly falling in love with Al Jazeera

To me, its a boring and tedious network and the chicks are hot, but annoying and the guys are not hot.

Besides, they hate America and always trying to do us in.

Ayrabs in general trying to do us in and the weak dollar and other problems becoz of Bush stupidity, in huge tax cuts, unrestrained military spending, inadequate infrastructure defense and yadda yadda

Still like I said, Murrica is guarantor of safety in 2 continental areas, plus keeps the ungrate Euros safe, who always wanna make money at our expense and also keeps the high seas safe from pirates, which BTW, you wont h ear on any network, I know, coz I have checked.

No great peans to the freed Japanese ship etc.

Still I love the US navy and have been telling it to hug the Indian navy.

Also I love DW becoz its hot guys liberated me from the fatty Charles Hadlock, I also still love bbc and cnn, so Jonathan Mann can chill out and relax by the pool, he is still hottie, but unfortunately Americanski starts a Charles Hadlock reaction in my compound, with fatties showing up to point and jiggle their paunchies and penii, which irritates me no end.

DW liberated me.

I am poor, very poor and this week cannot pay my bills.

I cant afford to bash Roger Cohen, becoz he gets a paycheck and I dont.

So there.

Bye bye.

Roger Cohen falls in love or at least gets morbidly impressed with Al Jazeera

and the DW pals are gonna be cross with me for once again getting grumpy with an NYT columnist, but what can I say, it just calls out to be spanked a lot of the time, and ya only remember the ones ya need to spank

Dear Roger,

Your article makes a few good points, viz. Rumsfeld's dismissal of an important, even if likely to be, an enemy viewpoint and the lack of habeas corpus at Guantanamo, which was never intended to lock up cameramen but bonafide battlefield detainees, and even in that, within circumscribed parameters of war.

However, you offer no proof for your assertions and gloomy predictions.

The entire article is a series of assertions and gloomy predictions of which the one about American power is the most egregious.

While American power may have attenuated due to poor policies, you discount the importance that American power plays in stability on at least 2 continental areas and in addition to keeping Europe safe and now most lately keeping safe the high seas from notorious pirates off of the coast of Somalia.

If you had needed to make a case for Al Jazeera as one of the channels one should watch, particularly if one is a soldier, that is a circumscribed parameter.

I have watched it in foreign countries and found it tedious, wishfully opposed to the US and morbidly morose.

To me, they do not reflect the reality that the guarantor of physical safety is still the United States and that Arab states are still in turmoil from the threats within their own borders or that Iran is wilful in continuing to bash Israel and to suppress the legitimate aspirations of its own young people and of women.

I am thrilled the troops get to watch the channel of their choice, since we had heard dire rumors of military censorship, but I suspect it is for the same reason I watch certain Democrat bashing shows and read right leaning news, is to know what the enemy is banking on and what they are thinking.
