So we have a new President of USA and voila it is a Black looking man, not full black, white mommy, black daddy, called Obama
But we still are not over our simple mindedness and we like a) telegenicity and b) Hollywood story lines, so we may not be racist, but we are still dippy as heck.
We shoulda elected My President Bill Richardson, even though Bill grew a beard later on and then said to be for Obama or somethang and I stopped reading the campaign emails after that.
But it shows that we were not ready to elect a Mexican for President, is what it showed, even though Bill is not from Mexico but was born in the USA, in Boston or somethang, who knows, I have forgotten all this stuff, but I did remember it once. Yeah and his daddy is from Nicaragua and he was raised for a few years in a Mexican country, or a Latin country and then in Boston or near it and married a woman from Boston, who is a very nice person.
So I guess we was not ready to elect a Mexican which was a mistake, not only becoz Bush was already our first Mexican president and he did nothing about solving our relationship with Mexico but also becoz our 2 neighbors, to the north and south, are really much more impactful on our economy in many ways and I have already said we look askance at hombres from the South, but we should also look at Gringos from the Norte, and their economic impact on us may not be completely wholesome which I have said in my other blog.
On the other hand, the hombres from the South have a lotta thangs that they bring already and their land has a lotta bounty that we regularly like and use becoz of its fine weather and fine foods and fine beaches and also its fine oil resources, so we should pay more attention.
Yeah, and barriers have actually been falling quite steadily even across Europe though we are so self centered that we dont wanna admit it or pretend that all Europeans look the same to us, mild and low key and self deprecating, but that too is a mistake. First becoz they are just as Rampaging Lions as our competitors in Asia and Latin America and second becoz the advice they give us may be quite destructive if we think of them as some kind of self deprecating do gooders, which they are not, they have huge egos and they out for themselves, just like everyone on the planet, so there.
And I am really ticked off about this hooked on telegenicity stuff, which we clearly still are, although Barack does not even look handsome to me, he looks like rat weasel who is Acting all the time, especially his Love Scenes with Michelle look like they are Acting. They have it down pat and they may even be Having Sex unlike many other candidates who are too tired, or grumpy or head full of all kinds of conflicted emotions and rage and greed and frustration to make love to their own spouses, but these two look like they know the Age of Snooping is well underway and I think they keep up their Act in the bedroom just as much as in front of the cameras.
The only time I think Michelle is real is with her 2 daughters who are quite sweet and precious, but I think Barry is a fake poo even with them, which is not their fault, but it is him, growing up black with White grandparents, he did not expect to have little black children, but somehow expected white ones to pop out, is what I think, I could be wrong, but thas what I think, he is wondering, whose kids are these.
And if I wanted a Black Man to be President, who I would want is Sean Puffy Combs, or Chris Rock or Snoop Doggy Dog, I feel they have the savvy and smarts to do us right.
I do not feel trust in Barack Obama, even if the world is happy, I think they think they can run us right over and maybe they can, now.
On the other hand, I think Barry is too much attuned to polling and safe story lines and he will choose the line of least resistance, like bombing his way into Pakistan and stuff like that.
And then rely on histrionic speeches to justify himself, just like Bush did.
In fack, I feel very much that he could be a Bushoid leader, not very well grounded in history or foreign affairs, but adored by his base, and relying to histrionicity and Acting to crush any cautious objections and thangs like that, until such time as the situation careens itself off a cliff.
And I think I would have been much happier with Bill Richardson as President and he might have been a better candidate if his wife was Rosie Perez or Huda Kotb or J Lo instead of Boston WASP.
This is the sad pity, certain groups got tuned out becoz the country had just had enough of them, regardless of whether the individual brought somethang to the table or not.
So it is good barriers have fallen, and unlike what we think, barriers are falling everywhere. A small weird looking Jewish guy is President of France and even though Segolene thinks we betrayed her, we didnt, we just wanted the funny looking Jewish guy, even though we knew we might have to huff and puff at him and then the funny looking Jewish guy dropped some barriers along with his trou not for a self deprecating and disciplined and chaste looking wife but a hilarious Super model who has hopped from bed to bed and published herself nekkid and had kids with different people or had kid with a son, whose father she also dated or other tabloid stuff like that.
And we supported a chubby Mommy type in Germany who cooks breakfast for her husband over the rock star looking Schroeder and then a zany leather wearing, motorcycle Mommy from East Germany managed to topple the powers that be of East Germany stodgy hierarchy. Now of course, we stuck with a philandering male in that slot, which may not be the person we wanted, but oy vey, at least we got rid of some stodge.
So I think people voted for cool and Obama won, although I woulda still preferred my Mexican President who knows what a foreign affair is, even if he is too fond of the ladies or whatever, it dont matter to me.
But we will take what we have and overall it is good, but mostly just OK, fine, but huge prollems ahead, like Flight of Capital and Deterioration of Cities and stuff like that, could be looming. Also huge resentment in the Red States and even with a mandate, it would be moronic for Barry to assume he is the President of Everybody, when he is the Blue State President with a lot of wary, watchful Red States.
And like I said, we dont wanna replace King George with Imperial Supreme Leader Barry Obama, that may go over fine with his adoring base, but it aint fine with us and we dont care if we vituperated against or dissed, we used to it, we turned back Noot Gingrich and Rush Limbaww, we turned back Karl Rove and we damn well ready to turn back our own side if they get too nasty or pushy with us.
Plus, there is always Flight of Capital and Flight of Intellect and if ya think ya can run the country better than everyone else, ya might just find yaself doing it and good luck, kapische.
So not ticking off the non adorers will be job 1, and turning back the rot will be job 2 and climbing out of the economic pit will be job 3, not necessarily in that order. Oh and not being a patsy and not being a prick on foreign policy, thas job 4 and 5 respectively, so I think that is plenty for the President Elect to do.

So on the verge of a Ballyhooed Great Global Foreign Tour, Barry Obama's foreign policy creds do not look promising
We dont share anybody's optimism that Barry Obamba is gonna win anything, we still think the White Wassist vote gonna hand it to McLoon.
We happy the media stars all hopping on planes to accompany Obamba and we sure hope everyone stays safe becoz a lot of places they going may not be safe. Including Berlin and the Brandenburg Gate and we already said on MinnieB9 that the Germans who balking at the Brandenburg Gate are looking petty and wassist, excepting Angela Merkel, who looking chubby and jealous that nobody asked her to speak on the National Mall and excepting Erwin Huber, whose only claim to fame is that he defeated the spectacular babe Gabriele Pauli for the leadership of the CSU. Erwin looks like a classic retro doof who wanna know why the black guy should speak at Brandenburg Gate and like we all says, why not.
Soccer fans go there, Bbc goes there, DW goes there, everyone on a soapbox goes there, but Erwin Huber thinks he owns the Brandenburg Gate and that since he defeated Gabriele Pauli, he is a rock star, well, he still looks like white wassist retro dude. What can we say.
Obamba on the other hand looks like a sprout eating dweeb. Dont get us wrong, we nothing against vegetables, that is a whole separate topic on how we are thrilled he eats vegetables and plans to introduce vegetables to the Democratic convention in Denver. This may be the first time the City of Denver has seen so many vegetables foods in one place, just kidding.
But Foreign Policy is a whole nuther thang and we just found out to our hilarity that Solemn Bambi has 300 peeps on his Foreign Policy team.
Yeah and I suspect that he wishes for more grandiosity and grandstanding and less common sense and if the recent past is any indication, his grandiosity will immediately be followed by dancing backward and artifulness and wiggling.
all of which is not promising.
But even more unpromising is his lack of clarity and lack of honesty on Africa.
I dont recall him grandstanding on Kenya riots for instance, when this was one stable and prosperous country and should have been expected to have a routine change of power when the election rolled that way, but instead resulted in carnage.
I dont recall him grandstanding on Zimbabwe.
I dont recall him grandstanding on Mbeki.
I dont recall Jesse Jackson or Eleanor Holmes or John Conyers taking strong stands either.
But now I am concerned they will start taking a stand on Darfur.
We have already been treated to George Clooney and the black actor guy who did the Rwanda movie and Mia Farrow and the irate columnist Kristof from NYT jumping up and down shrieking That's Genocide.
We recognize Genocide quite well and dont wanna be debating it necessarily, but to us it looks like a vicious tribal war. We know what happens in vicious tribal wars and wanna know why the guys who refuse to show up for the peace treaties are given a pass on forcing children to fight in their war and raping, pillaging, arsoning and kidnapping and killing UN and african peacekeepers.
We concerned that between hysterical columnists and shallow celebrities and Obamba's grandiose tendencies, this trend will continue.
We also concerned, he will just lead stand offs against China and Russia, without getting anything done. Sticking a finger in their eye as Maarti Harison and the US and the UK did on Kosovo, just stuck a finger in the Russian eye to get spite on them without solving the geopolitical problem of helping them all get along and preserving the rights of Serbs for their patrimony and ancestral heritage was a stupid and counter productive idea.
Now Africa looks like the same ball game, where Susan Rice, Obamba and a bunch of lefties look like they plan to get all self righteous and grandiose and poke a finger in China's eye to make a point, which they think will be appreciated by Petrobras, the Brazilian big oil company and Exxon and Chevron.
Well lemme tell ya, that it is counter productive as well as misguided, becoz the other side is vicious killers and rapists and becoz China and Russia are very good at sticking a finger back and most of all, becoz it is wrong.
And finally lemme tell ya this, all their grandstanding and ballyhoo is built on the blood of peacekeepers and if the grandstanders dont give a fig about them, lemme tell ya, some folks like us do.
And we will tell the peacekeepers who mostly come from poor countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and work for the equivalent of $1000 a month and get killed and sent home in body bags, becoz grandstanders conveniently ignore the killers on their side, that you are being killed becoz stupid and shallow people prefer to grand stand than solve problems. Your life is worth nothing to them. They have not once come to show you any sympathy. They talk about recruiting 10 000 of you and planting you in the middle of a vicious multi tribal ethnic war becoz they wanna look like righteous heros.
This is tough and you think about it before you volunteer.
Stay home.
Let Barry Obamba and Susan Rice and Kristof figure out their own foreign policy, with or without the 300 member team and in front of the Brandenburg Gate.
Bad foreign policy gets even more people killed. Grandiosity is not a substitute for ending wars.
Bye bye

Now for Double Sure, definitely no releasing delegates by Hillary for Obama
No releasing delegates by Hillary, what the heck are we, Zimbabwe, heck no
Let Barry Obama win the nomination based on the actual vote, that is plenty enough. What the heck is the need for acclamation and unification. He has to win what he has to win. If he cant win the Dems, he certainly cant win Republicans. Let every vote count and count every vote.Besides they are not ***Hillary's delegates*** they are the People's Delegates and the votes said how they should call it at the convention. The idea that Delegates ***belong*** to the candidate is retro, feudal and ridiculous. When it is a small number like Howard Dean or John Edwards, nobody cares much and it is more of a yawn, but this case is an Issue, particularly since throughout the race Obama idiots and thugs kept up a drumbeat for withdrawal and acclamation. What the heck are they so scared of, their Bambi boy cant win. Ya chicken, or what. Win fair and square. Go on. Make it count.Hillary won hers fair and square and was ground down every inch. We want the votes tallied and her name placed in nomination. When Barry's vote count gets to the top, fine, we will applaud. But count every vote and tally all the votes.Stupid asses wanting coronations and acclamations. This is a Democracy people. Start acting like it.

Wherein Barry Obama rolls over like a wuss and General Wesley Clark takes a bullet for the side
I suppose yall know what this is about, apparently Wes Clark was on CBS on Sunday with young Bobby Schieffer, hahahahhaah, I meant, anciently elder Bobby Schieffer, and said that being shot out of a plane does not make anybody better qualified to be a leader and Bobby said, well Barry Obama wasnt shot out of a plane either or something like that.
And I think Wes Clark held his own very well and basically stood up for the Dem side, but Barry Obama totally wussed out. All that lash lowering, mole on the nose showing professorial crap was just a cover for Pure Wuss hood. Barry Obama is a wuss.
Becoz the McCain camp immediately started whining the minute Wes Clark spoke out. They know Wes is gutsy, they know he is Very Muy Smart guy and they know he has been a soldier, a diplomat, a private entrepreneur and a presidential candidate, who had a unique distinction of the grass roots actually fundraising and politicking for him before he even threw his hat in the ring. And even though CQ and people like Chuck Todd, who has now become a big shot, made fun and said Wes Clark is the only one asking if he will run, 30 million dollars or more later, scores of web sites started for him by enthusiastic grass rooters in practically all states, vets, kids, hippies, grandmas and grandpas crowding campaign stops to meet and greet him and multiple vote standings in multiple primaries that well exceeded seasoned politicians like Howard Dean and Joe Lieberman who had been the previous veep standard bearer told us, Wes Clark's supporters that we were right and smug mockers like Chuck Todd were wrong.
Although of course the Washington insiders never admitted it, and even though Wes Clark was well familiar to Washington, they always loathed and feared him becoz they never grokked him and becoz he was always so grass roots and Arkansas.
Yeah, so this time around, Wes Clark was supporting Hillary, not just becoz of his ties to Bill Clinton, who BTW, in the end, had betrayed Wes Clark and fired him or practically fired him becoz that other Wussy ass William Cohen who was Sec Defense and that Hugh Shelton general loathed and feared Wes Clark and didnt want him staying around Washington and truth telling about Bosnia or anywhere else and even though Bill Clinton betrayed him in the end, Wes Clark supported Hillary, becoz he felt her defense creds were better.
Now he has defended Barry Obama to nudgy Bobby Schieffer and becoz some surrogate on McCain's team and McCain himself started whining right away, whaddayaknow, good ole Barry
Obama rolled the heck right over.
Mr. rollie over Obama, thas him, people.
Damn moron. Now he is fucking stuck with this crap.
Guess how the NYT is reporting it:
The Obama campaign kept its distance from Clark’s comments. Bill Burton, a spokesman for the Illinois Democrat, said Monday that “Senator Obama
honors and respects Senator McCain’s service, and of course, he rejects
yesterday’s statement by General Clark."
Lemme tell ya, this is not called Keeping Distance, this is called Fucking rolling right the heck over and asking to be fucked. Stupid moron.
This is fucking repudiation of an honorable soldier who has staked his reputation for ya miserable ass.
OK, ya dont like it, fuck the heck off.
When I first read the interview earlier today, much earlier, and read of the McCain surrogate hysterical whining, I immediately had the thought Wes Clark should just leave Barry Obama stupid ass to defend himself.
But then I immediately thought, this man is an honorable soldier, he is seriously concerned about Iran, he has been seriously concerned about the bungling and mismanagement of Iraq, he knows all the problems in Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, he is not gonna cop out from defending the interests of his beloved troops and his beloved country becoz of peeve or some other petty reason.
So in the end, I knew Wes Clark will do what he believes is right and then voila, wussy Barry Obama rolls the heck right over.
Ya see, thas the way.
I am already concerned about McCain's horrific choice of economic advisor Phil Gramm, whose wife Wendy Gramm was instrumental in bringing about the disasters of Enron, securities deregulation and now the hysterically spiralling housing and essential commodity crisis. I have been so busy carefully forensic checking the trail that led to this horrific economic multi part crisis and even though I already know many parts of the worst, guess what, I find something even worse, if that is possible. On her own Mercatus center web site, with full pride and joy, the totally shameless ass, with her grinning photo and a photo of a grinning accomplice writes a nasty hit piece on the EPA, available as pdf labelled something wicked this way comes. And the horrific shameless woman writes shamelessly about midnight regulations that might be entered by the EPA, who she hates like poison. And this from the woman who snuck in the horrific deregulation crap into an appropriations bill that led to the horrific deregs in commodities causing the spiralling disaster in oil and essential items, already having deregged energy for Enron, with her buddies Tom Delay and his lobbying wife.
My goodness, it just gets worse.
We have the horrific Gramms ready to make their triumphant reemergence, we have crazy ass John McCain ready to gallumph into war with Iran, stay in Iraq 100 years and we have wussy Barry Obama bleating like a chicken becoz an honorable, braveheart soldier defended his ungrateful ass.
Wes Clark, you just do whatever the heck you want. You dont work for Barry Obama, and you have the right to say whatever the heck you want. You have always defended the vital interests of your troops and your country and you just keep on doing whatever you believe in your heart to be right. A grateful nation knows your worth. God bless you and God bless the USA.
Shame on you Barry, silly wuss ass. Rolling over again and again. We gonna get stuck with crazy ass John McCain and we will be stuck with crazy ass Phil Gramm and his creepy moronic Wendy Gramm wife, who thinks the EPA of all things is what she calls wicked.
My goodness, it just gets worser and worser all the time.Labels: Barry Obama rolls over, McCain whines, Phil and Wendy Gramm look to redux, Wes Clark speaks the truth

I dont why that NYT guy Kristof started moaning about Katie Couric as if she is like Hillary, there is no comparison
She didnt mind lapping up the $17 million for the salary or bonus or whatever, but now that her broadcast is a dud she is complaining that corporates were on her case.
How come dozens of female and male broadcasters still managed to make their points and get their broadcasts.
No question many reporters and anchors were cheerleaders for the war. Brian Williams is also complaining about the Pentagon, but he thought his fellow White Christian Jesus Boy was right and the towel head sympos were wrong.
Like the American people many thought, what if Bush is right, right not just about the weapons, right about the ease of victory, right about the transition and right about a pacified mid east.
There were plenty of people and testimony and discussions to help them form the contrary view, the American people supported this President and the war right up to the hilt, all of us were lumped into misfits or disgruntled or commies or secret towel head sympos and stuff like that.
It's not like there wasnt plenty of testimony, op eds and reports to the contrary, many by State, Intel and military people, the American people and many press made their choices and took their pick.
Just becoz Katie Couric is a dweeb is not the reason to start bawling about women anchors, there are plenty of robust and credible women anchors.
I saw Sue on NBC practically the same after 10 years later, Linda Stouffer on CNN, Julie Chen, Jodie Chen, even the skinny anorexic ABC chick who is married to a rocker. There are many more and I cant recall all the names right now.
If they want a woman, there are plenty they could find, why the heck did they go for servile and deferential, the Katie woman is a disgrace.
Speaking of whom, I really dont know how Chris Matthews is gonna continue, first of all he has ticked off so many women, second of all, who is his constituency.
It amazes me the tiny viewerships with which MSNBC and other networks continue to parcel out their evening hours, there is just nothing there that helps people cope with the realities of the advancing economic and political clout in the world.
Plus Chris showed his misogyny apparently, he is too cranky and narcissistic and I dont know who proposed him for Bob Schieffer's show.
Plus, enough with the navel gazing Washington insider shtick, we sick of it.
Get Chuck Roberts from CNN, he is smart, he is resonant, he is from Nebraska or something, or get Linda Stouffer or Jodie Chen, if ya too scared getting Julie will seem like nepotism, now she married to that CBS guy who David Letterman jokes with on his show.
There's a bunch of very good people.
And make BBC and Deutsche Welle available in the country, ya can throw in something else, but those are a good start.
Go on.
Take a few bets, ya may be surprised.
So Gail Collins writes about the women who are ticked off at the primary process and Hillary's loss
I was OK with the loss and the loss in progress, I wanted the process to reach its own conclusion. After it was over, I saw a WSJ article on the loss which had a sketch drawing of the person called Mark Penn.
This completely shocked me, becoz the Mark Penn I thought was Mark Penn was the genial, amiable thin cheeked man with glasses who shows up on round table discussions and all.
I tried googling in multiple ways to locate this person I thought was Mark Penn, but it kept showing up the jowly dude with the weird hair on the WSJ sketch. Imagine that.
Who the heck is the other Penn guy, with the grin and the Partridge family hair.
I last saw him on BBC with Kirsty Lang, and I got worked up becoz I thought Kirsty was putting on the guy with the lobbying cloud, who made millions and sold out Hillary.
So I still dont know who the Mark Penn with the Partridge family hair is.
But Gail is right about the social safety net, women's right, health, children and staying in the race.
That's why chicks like Carly Fiorina or the eBay lady are so not Hillary.
They rich and they set out to be rich and powerful and the lady who drives her car to the factory or to a shift in a hospital, and sometimes drives to a neighboring town to work, and then goes home and handles her family is not going to solve her problems by suddenly making $100 million dollars or floating a successful share offering.
We need chicks who are comprehending of what real world women and workers are going through, not the chicks who make millions and think everyone just has to be smart like them and nobody will have to worry about health care or social safety net for them, becoz they have 5 homes on three continents.
Somebody earlier in the blog suggested the female governor of Alaska, I will have to check her out.
I also like Katherine Sebelius from Kansas, and since Barry's grandparents are apparently from that, that would be lovely too.
I dont like Jim Webb or some other white hawk guy, it would make it too easy for the nuts to lust after that guy to get the job, better have a straightforward leftie chick. Then we will have a nice 2 term president.
Barry can win on his own, not with Jihadi Webb and his Viet wife rattling around in his wake.
Let's see what Webb achieves in the Senate besides being a counter point to macaca.
So Barry Obama won his nomination and Hillary won the States she did and Barry won the States he did
so what was the big whoop de do, we do have a nominee, everybody did get to vote, even those whose votes are only gonna be half or allocated by telepathy or whatever, everybody did vote.
At least we know stuff now, like Montana voted for Obama, this is important to know, at least now we have a nominee, we dont have to listen to the same morons who kept saying to truncate the process tell us that Barry was coronated or crap like that, or Caroline Kennedy was having an affair with him, or Maria Shriver or all kinds of moronic stuff.
He won whatever he won, including some fairly white and sunburned states, so who knew. Montana apparently has a few things in addition to its spectacular scenaries and cowboys and Ted Turner.
This is all good.
It is also fine that Barry is black, great that many people feel happy about this. Now he has the nomination, just win.
Becoz we dont want it to be a symbolic moment and then wait another 20 years before somebody wins.
But I think we are fairly used to black people being leaders, the surprise is so few leave their safe Congressional districts to run for Senate.
Maybe now it will happen.

One more thing about financial perfidies and stuff, is the subprime and housing meltdown in United States
Or Bobby Rubin supposed to be the wise man of Citibank did not know what is a Liquidity Put. It's OK that I dont know, or not OK, but I was not in charge of Citibank, but now he says, he didnt know.
How come all the smart bankers of Wall Street did not head it off.
Or chicks like that high born Brooksley Born, who has a good family tree and connections to finance and law in America, if she was so sure about derivatives way back when, how come she was not effective in heading off or ameliorating the crisis.
How come nobody said how come ya charging all these humongous interest rates to modest income people.
I remember that looney Larry Kudlow, who they say used to take drugs, bleating over and over, when are they gonna Liquidate the Paper.
I dont think Larry Kudlow created the problem, but he unwittingly let out the real reasoning behind the cozy complicity and genial acceptance of news media, particularly people who present themselves as financial hotshots, on the genesis of this fiasco.
They all knew there would be a melt down, what they thought is that the big honchos would Liquidate the Paper, the poor and modest income people would lose their homes and the big honchos would have oodles of lovely real estate and liquidated cash to play with all over again.
didnt quite work out that way, did it.
This time, when Main Street got acidity, Wall Street got an ulcer.
That's how it looks.
Bye bye
To make a segue into economic perfidies, I chanced to find Ohio against Lakshmi Mittal, the great steel tycoon
But I guess I googled the images and found a picture of his boat, or one he was planning to buy which turned out to be Larry Ellison's grandiose yacht and then came across this blog of Ohio Citizen.
They detailed their problems with Lakshmi Mittal and the asthma his steel plant furnaces have been causing and the problems not just in Ohio, but complaints from locals in Orissa, Kazakhstan and South Africa.
The note about Larry Ellison yacht is here. In the current document, he has bought some yacht called the Amevi with its own helipad and stuff like that.
And I think it is important to stay on this topic and for people to pursue it, becoz pollution and irresponsible practices in factories all over the world cause ill health and merely knowing what medicines and procedures to do for asthma is not sufficient if we are not aware of and tackling the fundamental causes.
I also noticed that Ohio Citizen was concerned about Coal mining and denudations of mountain tops.
However, unlike personalizing it against one individual, like they have done against the tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, I did not readily encounter the individuals or faces of the people responsible for denudation of the mountains.
These are also very serious issues.
I think it is important to personalize and identify individuals, particularly as mainstream media is only to happy to be a cheerleader and willing admirer of successful individuals, who present a genial and amiable face to their communities, but all the while their practices are undermining and damaging the health and well being of people.
If white citizens of Ohio will not take up the challenge, then surely their are enough foreign origin citizens who will find out the polluters identities and start blogging about them on a regular basis.
That's the only way we will start getting better practices from people who should do better, rather than simply gazing at them adoringly and admiring their great success or gushing about their grand parties or homes.
Bye bye.
PS: It would also be good as we go into election term, we find out exactly where Barack and McCain stand on the issues and how they plan to clean up the sadly denigrated environment.
Leaders in Bengal have already had a comeuppance on their failure to deal with public outrage over land grab and misappropriation in Singur.
But Mo Dowd also makes a stunning error in cosying up to Colin Powell, for some unfathomable reason
I dont know how she says the casus belli being trumped up irritated him, he was part and parcel of the bogus selling of the war.
He sat around glinty eyed and bs ed to Jim Lehrer, who is the most gelatinous and supine of news personalities, if personality can even be the term applicable, and told him the ballon weather trailers were weapons labs.
What else could they be.
Even after the fact, he did not show that he in any way regretted his looney presentation before the UN, representing the integrity of United States, or shall we say, ruining and misrepresenting what should have been the integrity of his country.
Not just that, but he and John McCain and a bunch of Repub Senators stood and posed around on the Hill the morning of the Senate vote insisting that it was to present a unified face to the UN and help create the momentum for Iraq to voluntarily comply.
That was not all.
His greatest perfidy was to take the fruits of the bugging of the UN meetings and then go the members and say, we dont want you to reach a consensus.
So that then, they could go to the people and say, the UN has failed us, we are gonna go to war and then go on to the looney Azores summit and bust in.
Today, one columnist you have to check is Mo Dowd on Scott McClellan
She makes a few well apropos points:
One about junior’s bumpy and improbable boomerang journey from family black sheep and famous screw-up back to family black sheep and famous screw-up.
This is so spot on, becoz all the time in the 2000 campaign, those of us who researched his past and came up with his list of failures and shortcomings, including his financial blundering, his mistakes on the Texas budget, had emphasized just that.
His supporters said no he is a successful business man and ball team owner, and a graduate of posh universities and all of you are just kvitchy and jealous.
Indian Americans also adored him, especially Indians in Texas and in the South. So their own fiscal conservativeness and shrewdness, and they are largely a hugely hard working and successful group, demographically, did not give them any better insight into his huge failings and proclivities.
also the bankruptcies and shady dealings of his brothers.
The boomerang is particularly ironic, becoz soon after the height of the 9.11 tragedy, soon after the memorable church function, when he turned himself into a messianic persona, his Mommy said proudly, now he belongs to the world.
And just recently, his parents and he were photographed and they were almost regretful and bashful of his current ignominy, but the roots of his failings were apparent a long time ago.
Not just that, but his parents and his family even thought for Jebbie to be a logical successor as late as last year and if you ask me, they still harbor hopes of a family resurgence.
The second astute observation Mo Dowd makes is regarding how Bush came to be that way:
It seems that if you trust your gut without ever feeding your gut any facts or news or contrary opinions, if you keep your gut on a steady diet of grandiosity, ignorance, sycophants, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, those snap decisions can be ruinous.
Bush was wilfully ignorant and went from town to town trumpeting his message in 2002, and his supporters, particularly in the Red States believed his baloney all the way through, whether it was on taxes, or the war.
And it is only now, when it has all come a cropper, that they have some regrets, not becoz they feel he was wrong, but becoz it all came out wrong and they dont see any easy way to wiggle out.
Staying on the topic of Clinton, we dont know if the marginal paper American Free Press is onto something or just fishing
I dont understand why they or some mainstream paper doesnt insist on the full list and publishes it, especially with this suicide of the main lady concerned.
Surely it is a matter of public importance.
It is completely baffling.
talking of scarfing naughty snacks, that may have been Clinton's endearing weakness, but for the rest
And people got got weary and wary of another Clinton term with rehash's of past errors and possible past delinquencies and more scandals possibly being unearthed as well as new ones related to his new globe trotting speechifying business and his new money friends, which may all be above board, but when a country is in recession, a formerly modest incomed man suddenly raking in millions starts making ya think of unseemliness.
I think Frank Rich is wrong about Hillary and her Iraq war vote on the other hand, every one who supported the positive vote believed the Bush campaign story that it was as an aid to show unity and pressure Saddam into complying with the resolutions.
Nobody anticipated that the Bushies, including Colin Powell, who was at State, would bug the meetings of the UN security people and dissuade them from a second resolution, would be thinking up scenarios to justify a willy nilly entry into the war, as a Blair aide wrote in his diary, or think up that ridiculous so called summit for half an hour lunch in the Azores and have Bush and Blair eat a little bite and decide it was time to go to war.
So Dems who voted to support the Bush resolution got undermined by Bush perfidy. That's the real story.
Obama can say he was prescient, but we still havent heard any explanation from him how he plans to deal with looney dictators, including North Korea and Myanmar, or his plans for Pakistan.
We would really like to hear.
so michigan and florida are being seated with half votes
I have not been witnessing the misogyny of the TV hosts at first hand, but I can understand what is making the supporters of Hillary upset.
Even more upsetting is that Obama is a skinny, food virtuous male, forget black-shlack, it is his skinny ness, good skin and food virtue that is annoying as heck.
I dont know if we can elect a skinny person who doesnt scarf a handful of naughty snacks or sneak out for a food fix.
We'll see.

Yeah, so Bobby Jindal, veep, my, my, now he is finally Governor of Louisiana, the Indians are
In USA, the Indians mostly support the Republicans, at least when I was there.
OK, I am sure some support Dems, but in the communities in the South, they supported Thuglicans.
So I was not really supporting Bobby Jindal and in fact was a Kathleen Blanco supporter and she won the first time.
and bunch of commentator dweebs, I think it was these weekly standard people or some other right wing people said, it was a racist result.
How could it possibly be a racist result when 2 whitest counties voted for him, Bossier, the sister city of Shreveport, voted for him and some other county, almost totally.
Bossier is as conservative as Shreveport is liberal.
Bobby was winning when he started bragging about how totally anti abortion he was. This scared Dems silly. Also Dems already rejected a guy Milkovich, who said he was standing against abortion. He was rejected by 25% to 75% even though the Rethuglican is a watery eyed slug type.
Why do Indians support an anti abortion candidate. It is baffling.
That was not all.
Then he said Helmet laws mean a Nanny State, like there is something weird about telling people to wear helmets. OK, so maybe the Hell's Angels like that.
Then Kathleen Blanco released stuff on his record of Medicaid cuts when he was supposedly George Bush's little young health care whiz and also his record that he almost caused Grambling University to lose its accreditation.
And ya gotta understand, Grambling is the pride and joy of Louisiana.
Then finally, Bobby kicked his own self in the balls, by calling one set of so called Miscellaneous Funds, Slush funds.
Bobby mistakenly thought that Miscellaneous funds was a sneaky way for Governor's to pull wool over constituent eyes.
Keep in mind that the Governor at the time was a thuglican, Kathleen was only the candidate. But Bobby was blabbing about slush funds.
Now Miscellaneous funds was funds given to smaller counties that did not have their own tax revenue to keep roads, sewage and all.
But if ya want the State to function, ya cannot have a road or pipeline or electric line suddenly stop short at a county line becoz their own taxes dont cover it.
so in a state which has rich counties and downright poor counties, some which did not even have telephone lines well into the 2000s, ya have to find a way to pay for stuff, even if it is not strictly State Bidness.
So people in those counties, which many of them was white and poor, quickly ran and voted for Blanco in the final election.
So that is how Bobby Jindal lost that election.
Now, last thang I saw, was he was actually arguing for more Medicaid money and it was the Dem legislators who cut the funds.
People this is not a smart move, dont count on him being Indian, he is gonna tell everyone Your Stupid Ass cut the funds and if ya get ya ass kicked, it will be ya own damn stupid fault.
Louisiana medical care depends totally on charity care and Medicaid and the Medical School depends on it to keep their hospitals open, so heck do not mess with Medicaid funds just becoz ya feel like twisting the tail of the Rethuglican governor.
It is not a damn smart thang to do.
Just saying.
Think about it.
one last thang about the Republicans, ya remember when Lauch Washcloth was the face of the thugs
Now I find that Larry Craig apparently called Clinton a bad, naughty boy over the Monica Lewinsky thang.
But he was not the ranters and hollerers who showed up on news shows all over the place, bawling for the impeachment.
I am real happy the 2 Hutchinson brothers of Arkansas reaped their just rewards by being booted out in elections.
Mike Beebe is an excellent governor of Arkansas.
The booting out of the impeachment thugs was one of my happiest recurring moments, as one by one they got booted out.
Lindsey Graham is the only one with staying power and he has turned into some kind of people based civil libertarian and people appear to like him.
But ya remember the time when Lauch Washcloth was the face of the thuglicans. Hahahhahahahaha. Gone.
Now apparently McCain is reviewing Charlie Crist, Mitt Romney and Bobby Jindal for veep. Charlie Crist I dont know, but I heard he is practically liberal, I may be wrong, Mitt Romney is a reject already, for heaven's sake and a trillionaire who will compound all the Bush mistakes and banking and high lending rate fiascos of the 21st century and Bobby Jindal, my, my, my.
Imagine where the thuglicans are right now.
and it may be coincidence, but coming across Oscar Wilde may be coincidence becoz the last person I was googling was Larry Craig
And at the time and even now, I was against the prosecution and the summary resignation, becoz it did not seem that wagging your hand under a stall warrants a prosecution and plea.
It seemed simply ludicrous.
next time, they will jump on somebody becoz they scratched their nose or sneezed or coughed, becoz they will say, everyone knows it Means Somethang.
Well, that's just ridiculous.
But if ya check the Idaho statesman, they are also concerned that the Gay thang surfaced in 1982, then he married a chick with 3 children and vehemently denied it, then also that he repeatedly said he is not gay and the baseball team gave out bobble head dolls and some dolls apparently say the phrase, then he voted against hate crime bill including sexual orientation and in December 5 different people came up and gave various stories of gay type encounters with him including they say on Capitol Hill and in the same airport etc.
The Idaho Statesman also got a Pulitzer nomination for the breaking news aspect of the story. And they have an Asian publisher appointed by this McClatchy people folks.
Anway, whatever, the issue is that that was the second reason we did not want it pursued, we were tired of the gay bashing crap.
The other feller, Mark Foley, was a different case, he was a predator, even though his victims were the holy moly intern types who seemed to be scrub faced White Holy Republicans kept quiet about his crap but boasted or complained about it privately and didnt make a ruckus about it in their communities becoz their target would have been a fellow White Holy Republican.
But never mind the annoying aspect of the victims, their perky White Holy Republicanhood, the fact that he was a predator who abused his office was the deciding issue.
Larry Craig running from the stigma of gay dom is a different issue and now he has stayed in, he should think about coming out of the closet and apologizing to gay folks for betraying them and stuff like that.
Just come clean and start taking responsibility and show how difficult it is to be a gay man who is also a cowboy from a Western state and a Senator.
Go on, be brave.
and BTW the healthful anodyne line is from Oscar Wilde
and it is a real sad poem and the opposite of healthful or anodyne
the paragraph is this and why I was reciting the poem at circa age 10, I have no idea
He did not wring his hands nor weep,
Nor did he peek or pine,
But he drank the air as though it held
Some healthful anodyne;
With open mouth he drank the sun
As though it had been wine!
I remember a much shorter version, but some kind of longer version is posted here
in case ya wanna read the stupid David Frum blog post yaself
in case the stupid man goes and changes it, which he is sneaky and ass and could craftily go and screw with it

Mrs Clinton's RFK Remark
It seems obvious to me that she was just trying to stress that the most intensely emotional Democratic primary contest of her lifetime extended into June. It seems utterly bizarre to suggest that she was in any way contemplating an assassination attempt on Sen Obama.
Maybe Obama and his team heard it differently.
But maybe also they have a regular tactic of seizing on anodyne Clinton remarks and clutching at them as racial insults.
When my son was little and played kid soccer, there was a boy in his group who used to fall to the ground howling and clutching his shin every time the ball was taken away from him. The Obama campaign reminds me of that boy: a lot of theatrical injuries. We'll see more of that in the general. We'll see much more of it if he wins the presidency. An ultra-thin-skinned president whose supporters reject all criticism as a racist outrage - yes, I guess that counts as a new kind of politics. I'm not so sure it counts as an improved kind of politics.
05/24 05:14 AM
Plus, I only now noticed it says 5.14 am and when I checked my computer clock which shows 3 time zones, it is 6.50 am in NYC. Hahahahhahahah.
Talk about happy returns.
This was fast, people, at least for moi, since I am not sitting around waiting to respond every 2 seconds like some folks, not that that is a bad thang.
The only thang sillier and cuckooer and even more ludicrous and bizarre is David Frum's blog post
over the top yappity yap on it.
Mind you, I have almost forgotten who is David Frum. Mind you, I was not looking for his looney ass. I vaguely remember him as some kind of Canada transplant who wrote speeches for Bush. Maybe he was the axis of evil dude. I cant recall. The other speech writers name I have no recollection.
But I am googling Clinton remark to actually see if anything else was said, and somethang called National Review Online has somethang about anodyne and racial insult. I remember the word anodyne, it was in some recitation poem we spoke in some speech and poem elocution contest when I was like 10 years old. Around that time was also when I collected multiple scrap books of Bobby and JFK. As far as I knew anodyne is somethang good. The phrase was healthful anodyne.
Then, becoz I am lazy and bored, I am too fed up to even try and google anodyne. forget about dictionary, I have no idea where a dictionary is. Last one I had is in a store room in Shreveport. The one in Mumbai may be in a bookshelf. But I already told ya I was too bored to look.
So I look it up in the Word thesaurus. This implies anodyne is insipid, dull etc. Also neutral, inoffensive. This does not coincide with my memories of healthful anodyne. Also if so, it definitely does not coincide with an inflammatory remark about a sad and tragic assassination. So then I definitely have to google it.
An anodyne (Greek αν, loss, and οδυνη, pain: a cause which relieves pain) is a medicine that relieves or soothes pain by lessening the sensitivity of the brain or nervous system. Also called an analgesic (or colloquially a "painkiller").
The term has been applied incorrectly to various medications, such as narcotics, hypnotics, and opiates. True anodynes were applied externally to the part affected. Among those classed "simple" were onion, lily, root of mallows, leaves of violet, and elderberry.
Certain compound medicines were also called by this name, such as anodyne balsam, made of castile soap, camphor, saffron, and spirit of wine, and digested in a sand heat. It was recommended not only for easing extreme pain, but for assisting in discharging the peccant matter that occurred with the pain.
By extension, soothing or placating words are called anodyne.
Yeah, so this is more in line with my memory of healthful anodyne. And it is even further from a correct assessment of the inflammatory remark. How the heck can the RFK assassination remark be even vaguely considered an anodyne. Does it soothe, does it relieve pain, does it placate.
Sheesh, so when I turn to this so called National Review link, I am finding it is by this David Frum coot. Now that he has used the word so inappropriately, I see English must be his second or third language. Who knew.
That, or the man is cuckoo.
I also have a further rant.
Who the heck thinks the RFK assassination remark is a racial insult. Did RFK suddenly become African American. Jesse Jackson, OK, MLK Jr., OK. Why is offing RFK a racial insult. And BTW why is even invoking Jesse or MLK an insult. I would be highly complimented.
so David Frum riffs that it is an insipid remark or a healthful remark (depending on which thesaurus you use) that is used to interpret a racial insult and it is an example of a ultra thin skinned politics that cannot handle criticism.
I did not know invoking a painful assassination came under the category of criticism.
Man, that David Frum is not just a cuckoo but an idiot.
What a damn moron.
so it looks like Hillary Clinton has either developed political Tourette's disease or she has morphed into Tonya Harding or she is how can one put
What a world class cuckoo and icky thang to say, to invoke a painful assassination as an example of a political process that changed.
I can't even begin to address it.
Why is she even talking this way.
The whole point of staying in the race was to let people have their vote count.
It was not to turn into Tonya Harding and start imagining all kinds of stuff befalling your opponents, it was not to turn into Mitt Romney and spend millions of your own money, it was just to stay in and see the process through, now that so many people had got engaged in the primary and wanted to have their say.
Why for instance, is it even costing so many millions to stay in the race, this itself is something that is so amazing. OK, so maybe it is the ads.
But anyway, I thought it had been decided that there would be no smackdowns and backstabs politically.
Now this RFK assassination thang.
For heaven's sake.
Knock it off, Hillary.
And take a few days off, the campaign is making you cuckoo.
Live long and prosper, Barry. Live to a ripe, healthy old age.
For heaven's sake

And the other stinky chappal I see is this crap about not talking to Iran
Second, they were even mean to Clinton and Albright and said bellicose thangs about them in 1998.
So I dont see Iran longing to talk to anybody, except trying to take Jerusalem away from Israel and being mean to Israel, which they are always doing.
They also harbor fantasies of being the dominant Muslam, which makes Saudis look at them funny and Sauds count on Pakistan for being their fighting arm, if Iran ever makes it as a superpower.
But the stinky chappal is that keeping Iran down is a self defeating proposition.
True, it could come and bite us in the butt, but as I pointed out, not being here in 50 years is a very nice thang for me, since I will not be around.
On the other hand, I doubt if United States, Russia, Pakistan, India and China are all going to be singing bhajans while Iran goes nuts.
I think chances are the opposite, once it comes into the full world and has some development, it is unlikely to go nuts, but like I said, it could always bite us in the butt in 50 years.
The only thang left is the inevitability, United States can watch its dollar circle the drain, see the price of oil continue to rise and keep bellicosing or it can start talking.
India, China, Russia are already good buddies of it, our economies are doing good. Bush and McCain can keep bawling.
That's how it looks to me.
Bye bye.
And talking of rot, lemme tell ya 2 rots that are being hopefully bandied about
One is the rot about 1967 borders and the other rot is about Iran.
Apparently Hamous and others are still bawling about 1967 borders and many Murricans, black, white and Hispanic still think it is OK to give Texas back to Mexico, Alaska to Russia and Louisiana and Oregon back to France, becoz they think the Israelis are somehow going to pack up and go away and the Palestinians will fill their land.
On the other hand, if India is any criterion, that is exactly what could happen.
First the Muslams said they wanted their own homeland, then they took away our common territories of Sindh, Punjab and Bangla, then they also annexed Baluchistan BTW, now that they mismanaged their 2 countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh, they keep pouring over the border, either as terrorists or economic immigrants.
Their own governments are a mess, even when their kids go to fancy shmancy Western schools and have fancy homes in London and Dubai and Paris, they cant run a government. They make our own bozos look like Disraeli and Gladstone. My goodness, lalu prasad and khursheed alam look like world statesmen, no wonder the TV people love them.
So Pakistan and Bangladesh are a complete mess, their people are always trying to come here and becoz we have like 250 million Muslams, it is very easy to make heck up about ration cards and citizenship. How the heck can the ration card office tell whether Muhammed Hamid is related to 10 other Mohammed Hamids in the same village or not.
I'll tell ya, I cant get a ration card, but they can get a ration card and prolly vote in elections too.
They'll prolly ask me 1000 questions about my domicile even though my Granpa was the Dean of the local med school, my Dad and Uncle went there and all my family grew up here, but they started bawling about my so called domicile. When I found a xerox of my old certificate I felt thrilled and joyous. But if I was called some Muslam name, related to 1000s of similar sounding Muslam names, I betcher I could get a dozen ration cards in 15 days. Just saying.
So I think Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are gonna take over India one way or another, luckily nobody seems to mind.
Maybe Palestinians thought they will slowly overwhelm the Israelis with numbers.
That's why that Balfour guy was such a wuss, he just set up a bad deal. They already created Jordan for the Pallies, they shoulda just made Israel for the Issies, instead of that Wuss letter wussing out dual status for the Pallies.
Well, anyway, though the Issies always say stuff like land exchanges and approximation of 1967 borders, to me it looks like an old stinky chappal, which nobody is really gonna wear, but apparently Hamous and Pallies still talk about it and also the Sauds.
Also the Carterites and the GHW Bushites and bunch of others. I also see they are for giving Tejas back to Mexico, Alaska to Russia and Oregon and Louisiana to France.
Thas all.
talking about rot, here is the old appeasement rot showing up, which would be funny
First of all, let's acknowledge, 50 years from now, we who are laughing could all be bitten in butt, only thing that keeps me going is that I wont be here 50 years from now, so you all and your kids could get bitten in the butt, but I will be gone, so you can say ha ha stupid to me after 50 years, or whatever, but I will not be there to hear it.
But the main thing is this crap about appeasement, which we are so sick of, I dont see anybody trying to appease anybody.
Also do ya all remember mad George Will and his looney op ed about how 1900s Germany concealed stuff and led to the rise of Heetler.
Now even then, us earnest types tried to reason and say that with Satellites and monitoring and stuff, that kind of so called rise was not possible, but even we were not prepared for the stunning reversal of the pro war lobby when not a speck of weaponry turned up.
This despite all the hamster squeaking of mad Judith whoever from NYT who kept writing about the same balloon labs and mad Colin Powell telling Jim Lehrer that the balloon labs were weapons labs or somethings.
Even we cautioners were not prepared for the utter lack of even a speck of weaponry.
So this whole Heetler thang is now looking like a Mel Brooks or Monty Python skit.
And speaking of George Will, his outrage is now directed at Cheney, who he says is keeping troops there or somethang, I cant recall.
so we have a US election with 3 very flawed and annoying candidates
I know lots of people are really excited about Barry Obama, well, good. You will all need lots of energy to see that he gets elected and stays on political track and doesnt get mired in useless stuff etc.
We have a lot of things that need to get done. McCain has already said he wont do them, he is deep in the pockets of big bidness, Hillary and Bill are also fairly cozy with big bidness and Hillary health care debacle shows she trusted the wrong people (HMOs) over doctors and nurses although she did have a couple of doctors and and like 3 nurses on her panel.
So anyway, good luck.
I hope the Democrat wins and McCain just looks more feeble each day and the Rethuglicans are talking rot as usual.
The Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh brand of rot has less traction becoz of Iraq. They made all their plump cheeked plummy voiced rot about Iraq and the Europeans and all that, and now with 1 trillion bucks being spent and the Euro rising and oil at 125 bucks a barrel, their plummy voices prolly sound desperate and weird.
Not that I have heard them, but I will try and find out.
Monday, May 12, 2008
So Happy Birthday Israel and McCain and Barry Obama are duking it out and I am scared of both of them
I am spooked by both of them.
As far as Barry Obama's talking points, I think they have come from Carterites and the George HW Bush wing of the Republican party, the ones who want to re start oily relations with Iran, which in itself is not a bad thing, but those folks have also been high on the optimism and fast with the giving away of stuff in Israel, so they are not the most reliable of people.
I doubt if any of his talking points come from Hamas, I would laugh uproariously if somebody said Mashal was saying that, last thang we heard that Mashal was still saying Jerusalem was theirs and blah, blah, blah and Syria wanted the Golan Heights back.
My goodness.
What a horrific choice, really.
Wednesday, May 7, 2008
The second thing that makes me very worried is the obstinacy of Republicans and Bush over the mortgage crisis
Delinquencies of 22% are very high and it seems like Barney Frank's bill is the right one.
It is too late now to start debating who is being rewarded, it is headed in the right direction with modest upfront outlays to save homes.
the point is preventing foreclosures prevents neighborhood breakdown, keeps families in place, where they can continue education and work pursuits and keeps the fabric of the country safe.
That is a main priority.
Focus on that, at all times, focus on keeping the fabric of the country intact and strengthened, whatever country we are talking about.
We will tweak the details later.
And one more thing, lemme tell ya, lenders have had too free a hand, by the time the market has reacted, it is too late and not just that, but the reaction is so bad, it is ruining the economy.
so this is what we should tell the market worshippers, by the time the bad guys get even some comeuppance, millions have suffered, many few have made out like bandits and the economy takes a huge hit.
this is the case whether it is robber baron oligarchs in russia, or unscrupulous lenders and derivative traders in America and overseas.
It all sucks and the job of governments and NGOs is to control markets to protect the little guy, becoz markets punish the little guys and help the bandits and thas the truth.
and now the problem is the Dems dont know how to say that and Republicans and Bush are still talking their forked tongue talk about mortgage relief.
It really sucks.
So I was worried about 2 things in America and their more of the same choice
And his character turned out to be a classic weapons provider in the old mold, all bravado and free liquor and stuff like that and the audience just went ballistic in joy.
this was very scary, becoz although I am a big supporter of American military strength and also of India and the constant struggle against extremist infiltrators and hostiles, being madly in love with missiles and hardware is not a good idea.
For one, the problem is asymmetric warfare, for second, whatever you say, keeping dialog open is needed.
We may be wrong, but just now mad Pakistan government is planning some kind of rapprochement with the militants, which will backfire IMHO. But Manmohan Singh is determined not to lose his cool. We will see how that works out.
Third and most important, being madly in love with hardware suppliers is the wrong plan, when the United States is getting rooked by a trillion dollar war and all manner of defense expenditure excesses are occuring whether with Cheney's Halliburton and private army buddies or with people like Bush buddy Bollinger from Louisiana who sold the United States a bunch of boats with a bunch of problems.
I would like to see an exercise in caution on all counts and definitely an opening of dialog. It is scary to think what more could happen otherwise, it could be just the lull before the storm.
so Barry Obama wins NC and Hillary squeaks out Indiana
There is nothing there that folks havent heard before and some of it folks might even want to talk about.
On the other hand, I am disappointed with the media demagoging the gas tax holiday, just becoz McCain set it up in a wrong way, dont make it wrong. Hillary's idea of getting the $ 8 billion from the oil companies is a beautiful idea, oil is at $122 a barrel but anything that is soak the oil companies get slammed by media. Thomas Friedman should be ashamed of himself.
so should Barack Obama, he just can't admit Hillary is right any time and just becoz she is losing is no reason to quit.
She dont have to do a scorched earth policy or anything, but now she is in for the stretch, she is in.
she mentioned like she has lived the American dream, this is true, the American dream is also that now she is successful and the millionaire wife of a millionaire ex president and a twice elected Senator, American voters can still choose to elect someone with much less experience and some but a lot less wealth and influence.
so that part of the American dream is good and we cant say all the motivations of the Barack Obama supporters, but they are making their choices, just as Hillary supporters are making theirs.
And I feel pretty sure McCain will be the President come November, but Democrats will have their first black nominee and he is not 10th generation African, but 2nd generation and still has relations in the old country.
So that much is all good, but I will be surprised if he lands in the White House, that's all.
But that's no reason for Hillary to quit.
Just like Jesse Jackson supporters made it a point to cast their delegate votes for him and place his name in nomination at the convention, it is now paramount all voters have their say.
It will not be fine for scorched earth or screeching to seat Florida and Michigan, unless of course, it ends up being a 50 50 split, which IMHO it is, and primary voters should have decided that long ago. But if you want to avoid disenfranchisement, then go ahead with a compromise and do a split.
Barry is ahead and let him get the nomination.
I think it will be pretty awful if McCain wins, although folks dont think so, but it will be more of the same.
Saturday, May 3, 2008
And Wright goes on to say he has no problems with Judaism but that is becoz he is Christian, lemme tell ya, some people do have a problem
The fact is that Judaism was founded on being against idols and if you look around people, we are in India, which is wall to wall idols.
Not only in the old testament or whatever, what do I know, Jewish texts, they keep complaining about idols, they give them self tsuris and chastisement every time some calamity happens, or war happens, they say, aha, it is becoz we did not rid ourselves of idols enough.
Lemme tell ya, this is ridiculous, calamaties and war happen becoz of the human condition, not becoz of idols.
Christianity has plenty of idols, even those sects that do not have statues or Mother Mary, the cross itself is idolatry.
There are people who even get worked up at little scraps of Torah scripture being kept in books or in the teffillin, becoz they say it is idolatry.
Muslims are famously against idolatry and even depictions of human body, let alone their prophet, who BTW married umpteen times, including the last time to a 6 year old girl, and consummated the marriage when she was 8, and it was in this umpteenth under age marriage, that the father in law decided he was the next successor prophet and they began a fight with the descendants from the first marriage, which was Fatima and the kids. So that is how the Sunni (from the father in law from the underage girl marriage) and the Shia (from Fatima and the kids) rivalry began.
And if Farrkhan wanta talk hair raising, he could maybe have a huge exposition on that.
But never mind that, this ranting against idolatry is also a sign of Oliver Cromwell, who had a big fight over it, not comprehending that his Church the Church of England was born becoz a previous king had umpteen wives and wanted to divorce and off them, and the Popes in Rome wouldnt let them. But Oliver Cromwell was another one always ranting about idols.
And there was a big thing with a born again White Christian guy in the US Military who started bawling about Muslims that their God is an idol. This made me astonished, becoz one thing we already established is all the Abrahamic faiths have a huge issue with idols.
The idol people are us, the Asians, the Indians, Cambodians, Balinese, Buddhists etc. We are the ones with the huge idols, little idols, millions of idols in our temples, huge big idols in our caves, out of rocks, in the mountains, and little bitty idols all over our homes, to whom we talk, pray, feed, adore, play music, dress up and feed and all the rest of it.
So we would like a little respect for our love of our own idols. We do not want people dissing them, blowing them up or trying to take them away.
If you dont like idols, fine. We like our idols and we would like to keep them.
Also the Buddhas in the mountains have been there for thousands of years, long before the Muslims got there and now the Muslims tried to blow them up. Ditto in Kashmir and Bali and all over India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan and Far East, us people was there long before and this new religion shows up and thinks it is the boss.
So this is the part of the Abrahamic religions I object to and I would like some respect and tolerance for our side.
Furthermore, the Kaaba is a jewish stone and people see no problem in saying prayers to it and worship it, so you worship your stone, we will worship ours, OK, that's perfectly fair and if Reverend Wright, Farrakhan and Barry Obama are so disposed, I would like to find out their detailed views on the issue, also a variety of rabbis and padres and mullahs, that would be fine too.
Thank you.
yeah, so the Z word and Wright and is anyone gonna address it
First of all, it is not a religion and second of all, what has gutter got to do about it.
I think this is the part that has a hilarious side effect and the fact that Wright and Farrakhan are being repudiated may be a shock in the middle east where dissing Zionism, which they pronounce with a hissing on the Z, is a long professed time pass.
in the middle east, they simply loathe Zionism and think everyone in the world loathes it too. To their shock, even though they might pretend that Barry Obama is just a politician wiggling out becoz of Jews, they can't shake off that the Zionism is a gutter religion clip did not cause widespread hallelujah's in the country.
And let's not fool ourselves, that's not becoz people are not disapproving of Isreal, oh, they are. There is white people and black people who are very disapproving of Isreal, it is just that unlike the middle east, most people of both races in America, do believe Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state and this is the big difference between America and the middle east.
But never mind that, even though it must have shocked the middle east, the point is that Zionism is not a religion, and I dont want to get into whether Carter and Tutu said that, or it is the same thing or what not.
the point is Zionists believe in the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state and if ya wanna call it gutter, then establishing a home state for Jordan for the Palestinians is also a gutter, Liberia which was established for liberated African American slaves is a gutter, Bangladesh is a gutter, Balochis want a gutter and Pakistan is a gutter. Also Chechnyans wanting a separate Chechnya is a gutter and Kosovo is a gutter.
so that is the part about Zionism, all the lefties think all the other movements where certain people want a separate state is just hunky dory, but only Jews wanting a little bitty slice of land is a gutter.
And speaking of Kosovo, I dont hear Reverend Wright or anybody else complaining that White Christian Serbs got done out of their homeland. That fat ass Marti Haari or whatever his Finnish name is and his American and UK buddies pushed through the independence of Kosovo, which they had decided all along, but which they somehow neglected to tell us.
I also dont hear Reverend Wright bawling for the Sindhis who lost their homeland or Punjabis or Bengalis becoz Pakistan and Bangladesh wanted separate lands and threw out all the Hindus and Sikhs.
And dont tell me there are a couple dozen still around, that dont count. We have millions of Muslims here, how many millions of Hindus you got.
Yeah, so this whole gutter thing somehow becomes very selective and I notice Wright did not repudiate that, and just repudiating stuff without giving details is a way easy out for Barry and I would like some clarification.
And I am not done yet, becoz I have some things about Judaism too and the whole Abrahamic religion stuff, and that's just the way it is
The Farrakhan Zionism Clip and Reverend Wright at the Press Club
Luckily, in his Wiki profile, I found reference No. 48 linking to the NYT transcript.
I also found his military record and how Wright was at Bethesda and took care of President Johnson and all of that, and this man and his family have a long history with the country, I dont think we can just blow him off.
Also he has a constituency and not just like Ross Perot for one election season, he has been maintaining a church constituency for over 20 years and if he had been an outright loon, we might have heard of him sooner.
Barry on the hand, sounds like a typical politician, all wriggling and expediency.
We thought he was all charisma and rhetoric and when the going got tough, he is trying to wriggle out.
so anyways, I am looking for the Press Club transcript and as far as I can see, there is a lot that is transcendent, there is some that is angry, but a lot of people white and black and asian are angry, angry is no reason to lose your nerve, angry means something is wrong and maybe somethings need to be corrected.
But there is one point where Wright looks like he is getting agitated and worked up, and interesting thing is that it wasnt even the Moderator who brought it up, it was Wright himself and it was the Z word for Zionism.
Also I would like to say, I would like to find out who is the Moderator, but maybe I didnt look hard enough. Also the moderator made it a point to let audiences know that the applause was not necessarily from what he/she referred to as the working press but guests or somebody, presumably Wright supporters.
Wright also made humorous and ironic references to that mention, but that is an aside.
The interesting thing is how the Z word came to be mentioned and it is not pretty, so if you can't stand un pretty, better stop reading now.
This is one of the items I would like Barry Obama and the legions on his side to please comment in detail.
So the moderator asks about Farrakhan and this is what Reverend Wright has to say:
Let's note, the moderator only asks about Farrakhan and did not mention any Z word, the moderator says:
MODERATOR: What is your relationship with Louis Farrakhan? Do you agree with and
respect his views, including his most racially divisive views?
And this is the interesting part, where it looks like Wright goes a little agitated and worked up and brings up the Z word, and then tries to bring Jimmy Carter, Desmond Tutu et al into it.
Now I did not know that news stations had been broadcasting a certain Farrakhan clip over and over again, but apparently they had and apparently the clip included the Z word, used in a real weirdo way.
Let's see what Wright said: REVEREND WRIGHT: As I said on the Bill Moyers' show, one of our news channels keeps playing a news clip from 20 years ago when Louis said 20 years ago that Zionism, not Judaism, was a gutter religion. And he was talking about the same thing United Nations resolutions say, the same thing now that President Carter is being vilified for, and Bishop Tutu is being vilified for. And everybody wants to paint me as if I'm anti-Semitic because of what Louis Farrakhan said 20 years ago.
So that was what the transcript referred to, Wright said, that Farrakhan had said Zionism is a gutter religion, and Wright believed, that it was referring to ***the same thing*** United Nations Resolutions, the same thing President Carter is being vilified for, and Bishop Tutu is being vilified for. And Wright complained that he is being painted as anti Semitic becoz of what Farrakhan said 20 years ago.
the easy part is saying Repudiate, what exactly is being Repudiated, Barry Obama and Wright
So now we are supposed to believe that all along Barry has been clinging to this guy, using him as mentor, having him marry him, bless his house, his kids, pray with him before he announces for running for office and now suddenly he is a loon.
What is it exactly we are saying he is looney over.
I would like a step by step, item by item discussion.
Forget about what did Barry know and when did he know it, forget about did he sleep through the sermons.
What are the items he finds looney.
Please describe and discuss.
Is this too much to ask.

Pennsylvania Primary, this time I am hoping mad Hillary wins
Plus Obama still hasnt told us what his defense strategy is, apart from supposedly taking care of Afghanistan.
what does it mean exactly.
BTW, I see several Euro navies are all involved in keeping their people rescued out of Somali waters, so one way or another, America is not doing it, other people are also developing their skills.
So much, so much.
I just dont see how shredding the safety net and widening the gap between rich and poor is helping the country.
I am still seeing the stirring of ugly talk on entitlement culture and Arnie Schwarznegger is still craftily planning to get people to fall off the Medi Cal rolls.
It looks like a tough decade people
thrilled about nuptials of john king and dana bash
2 very delightful people.
God bless

and BTW, not that I am big fan of Big Press or butt kisser Press, and there are a lot of them
They did not like being pushed around or ordered around one bit.
The league was dreaming sugar plum dreams of raking in billions and tried to nudge out other coverage and too late they realized if they have a black out on coverage, nobody will watch or take interest in their silly matches.
We still dont know if they will be popular or a flop.
I just think they would be a lot more popular if they coupled their billionaire force and filmy antics with public interest projects. People might care.
We'll see.
I hope the press smacks them around instead of being adulative, you should have seen the breathless Times of India and Mumbai Mirror coverage. It was hilarious.
Can you say enabler in Hindi, I think chamcha covers it. But I would like to think of a more apropos word.
Bye bye
And more on inequities, you should see the excess of the IPL, the new face of Indian Cricket
The point is they have most of them shown energy, enterprise, some of them have risen from humble beginnings, others built upon what they got. Very few of them, that I can think of, almost none, are robber barons like the Russian billionaires who looted and bilked their country.
And they have now made a grand new plan for making cricket a billionaire league, which is all good. They have international players and many regional teams sponsored by millionaires.
Which is all great.
But where is the understanding that they still have to raise all boats.
do you know what the latest excess was, apparently at the recent match, which may have been their first, they had a gold and diamond helmet as trophy for man of the match.
That is simply horrendous and out there.
No schools or scholarships for deserving or even un deserving children, no roads, no wells for needy villages, no damn thing of that sort.
Like we are gonna be impressed with this gold helmet crap, it just looks silly and excessive.
BTW, Shahrukh Khan's antics are so cynical, this guy knows a little mugging for the camera brings in the big bucks. Times of India, butt kisser of big bidness loved it, DNA was incoherent but tried to use a little irony and cynicism.
I would really be impressed if every day I picked up the paper and saw which rural villages had their infra structure improved by Vijay Mallya, the Tatas, the Dhoots, the Ambanis et al. And speaking of the Ambanis not by first getting the money from Big India Government.
I dont see how pouring money into Formula One beats elevating villages. If you have the money, please flaunt it, we like flaunt, we just want to see villages and slums thrive.
That will thrill us a lot more than silly gold helmets, which just look like a ludicrous travesty.
Bye bye
And speaking of cynical medical ploys, about 6 months ago, the NYT wrote a series or maybe 2 articles on cynical Insurance ploys
So they get a payment of upfront several thousand dollars to so called enroll people who are Medicare eligible in their creepy and ugly plans, which require all manner of co pays and horrendous crap.
Then the elderly person who doesnt know all this either signs on, or fails to refuse adamantly enough, and gets signed on in some way, anyway.
Then they know nothing about this horrendous change till they have a medical procedure or actually fall ill, then they find out, either they cant see their regular doctor, or have to travel 10s to 100s of miles to get to a plan doctor, or they have horrendous co pays or they are just plain not covered for the condition.
By the time it is too late and many are too sick to do anything about it and they are not allowed to go back to regular Medicare till the end of one year and by then, the company has bilked the USA by getting its own money upfront, but not paying out for the sick person.
Talk about total bamboozle, this is what they mean by making Medicare more efficient, it is more efficient at transferring wealth from US public to private bamboozlers, whereas the elderly get the short shrift.
That's how it looks.
Again, I feel pretty sure Katie Couric will be giving lap dances and cheek nuzzles to the Bush people and insurers, Gibson will be stuffy but ineffective, and Staphylococcus will be an A Grade suck up and enabler.
That looney comedienne chick Staphylococcus is married to is just as bad BTW and she is totally adulative of him and his upholding of Big Bidness and Republican administrations, no sense that the country is all about keeping people happy, safe and emotionally, financially and physically secure, none at all.
That stupid Alexandria who prolly lost her neurons while turning skinny has no idea that it is media's job to ensure Big Bidness plays by rules and Big Government serves the interests and well being of every person, not just persons like her suck up, enabling ass of a husband.
That's all.
Another damn pity.
talking about inequities, I see another cutesy guy, the Terminator in California, has terminated Medi cal in a sense
Everybody knows imposing more paper work and frequent checks is only to encourage more people to fall off and during the time it takes them to re enroll they just sicken and die.
This is a mean and cynical way to cut costs. The Sacramento Bee and whoever do gooder says it will cost the same is wrong, it will save money by kicking off people who are too tired, too poor or too sick to keep re enrolling 4 times a year.
You think about it, even in a good state of health and functionality, if something required 4 times a year re enrollment, chances are you will fall off. If you are sick, poor or exhausted and over worked, you will fall off.
Arnie was a fraud from Day one with his bonhomie and ha, ha, ha, crap. But serves the people of California right, they elected him, which goes for the Unions too. There was very poor support for Bustamente and later for Phil Angelidis, who both had excellent leftie creds.
Except for a small deep blue area of San Francisco and maybe a couple other places, the State went red.
No doubt if people like Couric, or Gibson or Staphylococcus grilled the Terminator, he would find some choice fuzzy phrases to make his policy look good. Surprising we dont hear any bawling from Uncle Ted, Caroline and her skinniness liposuction herself, Maria Shriver.
It is a total travesty.
Meanwhile, I see Florida Senate has unanimously approved their Governor's health care plan which will extend basic coverage for about $2000 a year. It is still too high for the folks who work in school custodian, check out counters, gas stations etc.
But it is a good start. I think and hope. We'll see.
BTW, I am pretty sure if Couric grilled the Terminator the floor crew would have to wrench her from off his lap and keep her from nibbling his ear and licking his cheek. Gibson would try in his stuffy way to keep the conversation on track, where as the Staphylococcus would aid and enable him to phrase it in an All America glorious way as if enrolling 4 times a year was the best thing sinced sliced bread.
Really, the cynicism and uselessness of some people.
BTW, I found both news items on a new site I found for medical news and prolly now I have found them, somebody will get to them and force them to change their lefty ways and we will get All Glorious All American News from Now on.
Medical News today also had a slightly ironic bent until about 6 weeks ago, then suddenly their coverage changed and voila, there is no irony whatsoever, there is less critical evaluation of medical claims and there is more stuffy reporting of various UK county and USA state and federal medical related news.
What a damn pity.
So the Bitter controversy continues, with Obama on the backfoot, burbling and carrying on
Also the furor over the so called ABC debate, with Staphylococcus and Gibson. Staphylococcus is a known trouble monger, but Gibson after a period as an aging whitish majority male, kind of stuck in the mud groove person seems to have found a new persona.
I dont mind the time they spend on finding out whether Barack is dismissive of a major constituency, can you imagine if Gloria Macapagal had said something nasty about her constituents, or Manmohan Singh in India dismissed the concerns of Indian farmers.
In fact, I find Kamal Nath the Indian guy who goes to Davos and bawls against foreign farm subsidies more than a little annoying. Becoz the point is not abolishing farm subsidies, it is making farmers more secure. I have been bawling about this for a decade now, and luckily the American people approve of farm subsidies despite the hysterical media attempts to portray farmers as freeloaders. And now with the global food crisis, the importance of having a farm cader that is secure is more than ever emphasized.
Plus there is the inadequate farm support in the India budget, where loan forgiveness is not enough, even assuming it trickles down to the poor farmers. The one billion dollar subsidy they announced last year barely made an impact, I guess it all disappeared into corrupt official pockets. Plus, where are the subsidies and seed and transportation support, that is the big question. It is a horrible thing that the country of Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan not only ignores its jawans, but then makes a mockery of farmer support and this Kamal Nath dude, who BTW, the young media folks think is a big Hero at Davos, and you never hear of him in the Western Press when Davos is going on, is still bawling about abolishing farm subsidies, as if the problem is over supply of food, rather than under supply.
But the point is can you imagine if Manmohan Singh or somebody else made nasty remarks about how farmers are bitter. By the way, we can say that about Raj Thackeray stirring up bitterness against non Maharashtrians. There is a way to raise all boats, and the way is to work for the protection of migrant workers, once we guarantee their wages, security and health and get them IDs, automatically, there will be less incentive to use them as a source of semi legal or cheap labor and Maharashtrians will get their due share.
Same goes for the hysteria against migrant workers in the USA and elsewhere, the point is not to scare them silly, but for labor unions to insist on protections and minimum standards and that will cause domestic labor to be just as cost effective.
The recent actions of the Southern Poverty Law Center in supporting the Indian workers who were being exploited by the Mississippi boat building yard is a case in point. Instead of vilifying victims, you have to protect them, that will raise all boats.
It's also interesting that the corrupt Buffoon, Bollinger who is a big ship builder in Louisiana and apparently sold the United States a bunch of boats with huge problems was talking some rot to Stephen Sackur of BBC, who sounded duly impressed with him. Bollinger, a big Bush buddy, was bawling how they want workers in New Orleans. Apparently they meant cheap workers who will work in slave like conditions, that's what it looks like.
Yeah, so talking about bitterness is not a good idea, what will Barack do to improve people's lot, we dont know. So far, the answer seems to be trust me, I am cute and charismatic and my Mama took care of poor people with micro finance, so I too will hand out a couple bucks and help people start their own moonshine and meth stills in the backyard.
No hard leftie stuff about tackling the finance industry, oh no, not a word about usurious interest rates and the bilking of Main Street, oh no.
BTW, I am just as disappointed in Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Mary Landrieu, David Vitter and Larry Craig.
And let me say, it was a real pity that the SFgate article by Garofalo or Garofali on the ABC debate for some reason had all 84 of its comments removed.
For heaven's sake why, just a week or so after I commended sfgate for its resilience in keeping comments rather than scrambling to remove them or making stuffy preconditions like the NYT.
These are tough times people, we are not intimidated by a few hysterical or over heated remarks, we are offended by laissez faire and public cowardice and lack of initiative in fixing the major problems that keep people in poverty and even in rich countries like USA and Germany keep people in insecurity and unhappiness, while the few get richer and richer.
Richness is when all the people in the country are doing well.
Bye bye

so now I want to talk about a new strategy for America, which is go back to Tourism roots
And basically it is tough out there even when you know the city and I just wonder how people even come for work and mainly from America, it is Indian ex pats who can return home and then conduct business between the 2 countries and I would not recommend for either black or white Americans to go out and touch the world, since really a lot of places in the world are a pretty tough gig, even the places you think are OK, like Germany, can be a tough gig, let alone places in Asia and elsewhere.
But then Chidanand Rajghatta in the Times of India, has now changed his tune from being a Bush and Musharraf booster to just being a kinda sorta straight reporter for American news for India and for advice to Indians, gave some stats on India tourism and other countries.
And I think he wrote that our tourism here is about 5 million which is pathetic, compared to 80 million for France and in the 50s for America and China.
So those were quite an eye opener, but then I began to think that certainly India can do a lot better, but so can America.
Becoz the 50s are just small potatoes and people still want to visit, but maybe the tourist traps of New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas etc are all tuckered out.
There are still vast areas especially in the South and Mid west that do not get their share and it is a pity that roads like the 1 -49 north of Shreveport are taking so much time to get built and even down South there is such a complicated road system, except for short stretches.
And it occurred to me that America hasnt realized that a) the energy crises is not going away
b) there is no energy fix and c) other countries including India and China are busy corralling big blocks of energy resources in Africa and Russian Bloc or Central Asian countries.
So America has not made her resources and infrastructure fit the people who dont just wanna get in their car and drive to a vacation spot or take a plane to it, especially since many vacation spots like say the Louisiana plantations or in Georgia or Mississippi or Rio Doso in New Mexico are not exactly plane friendly.
Plus you need a car when you get there and plus even if planes go or to places like Bemidji in Minnesota, you have to wait hours for connections and then ride those dinky planes which scare the heck out of you.
So even for the domestic industry, lack of tour buses, trains and good main artery roads deter good tourist traffic to a lot of places which could use the industry.
With the sad fall of New Orleans, Louisiana is really feeling the pinch, but a lot of other places which are still functional just wont get the business, becoz first of all nobody even knows they are there and if they did, nobody for instance in New York wanna go down there to drive.
On top of which, the slightly paranoid culture is another deterrent, like in the 80s classic movie about a couple of New Jersey boys and the New Jersey lawyer who set them free and his sexy Brooklyn talking girlfriend. I know the movie, but right now all the names escape me. The weirdness of many places in the South and Mid west and especially the fear of weirdo law enforcement can be a real deterrent to tourist dollars getting there.
And America's economic crisis like its energy crunch is not gonna go away with a bunch of wishes.
And domestic tourism is just a little bit, but mainly it is re allocating money that is already in the country.
In the end, what they have to do is attract a lot more money and it has to be from Overseas and for that they have to stop thinking about Foreign people as potential immigrants and start thinking of Foreign people as customers.
Universities have already made the switch, but tourist destinations and deep in the heartland both in the South and Mid West have not grokked the reality that somehow they have to be user friendly for Foreign people, who may not just hire a car and drive around.
so that means setting up tours, roads, buses and trains and user friendly food stops and user friendly convenience stops and all of this at the same time as keeping America safe from people who have harmful intentions, just like we have to do in India, we have to keep India safe from nuts and terrorists and in the case of so called friendly nations, spies. smugglers and drug dealers as well.
So it is not going to get less complicated, but a lot has to be done that's all.
Bye bye
