I dont why that NYT guy Kristof started moaning about Katie Couric as if she is like Hillary, there is no comparison
She didnt mind lapping up the $17 million for the salary or bonus or whatever, but now that her broadcast is a dud she is complaining that corporates were on her case.
How come dozens of female and male broadcasters still managed to make their points and get their broadcasts.
No question many reporters and anchors were cheerleaders for the war. Brian Williams is also complaining about the Pentagon, but he thought his fellow White Christian Jesus Boy was right and the towel head sympos were wrong.
Like the American people many thought, what if Bush is right, right not just about the weapons, right about the ease of victory, right about the transition and right about a pacified mid east.
There were plenty of people and testimony and discussions to help them form the contrary view, the American people supported this President and the war right up to the hilt, all of us were lumped into misfits or disgruntled or commies or secret towel head sympos and stuff like that.
It's not like there wasnt plenty of testimony, op eds and reports to the contrary, many by State, Intel and military people, the American people and many press made their choices and took their pick.
Just becoz Katie Couric is a dweeb is not the reason to start bawling about women anchors, there are plenty of robust and credible women anchors.
I saw Sue on NBC practically the same after 10 years later, Linda Stouffer on CNN, Julie Chen, Jodie Chen, even the skinny anorexic ABC chick who is married to a rocker. There are many more and I cant recall all the names right now.
If they want a woman, there are plenty they could find, why the heck did they go for servile and deferential, the Katie woman is a disgrace.
Speaking of whom, I really dont know how Chris Matthews is gonna continue, first of all he has ticked off so many women, second of all, who is his constituency.
It amazes me the tiny viewerships with which MSNBC and other networks continue to parcel out their evening hours, there is just nothing there that helps people cope with the realities of the advancing economic and political clout in the world.
Plus Chris showed his misogyny apparently, he is too cranky and narcissistic and I dont know who proposed him for Bob Schieffer's show.
Plus, enough with the navel gazing Washington insider shtick, we sick of it.
Get Chuck Roberts from CNN, he is smart, he is resonant, he is from Nebraska or something, or get Linda Stouffer or Jodie Chen, if ya too scared getting Julie will seem like nepotism, now she married to that CBS guy who David Letterman jokes with on his show.
There's a bunch of very good people.
And make BBC and Deutsche Welle available in the country, ya can throw in something else, but those are a good start.
Go on.
Take a few bets, ya may be surprised.
So Gail Collins writes about the women who are ticked off at the primary process and Hillary's loss
I was OK with the loss and the loss in progress, I wanted the process to reach its own conclusion. After it was over, I saw a WSJ article on the loss which had a sketch drawing of the person called Mark Penn.
This completely shocked me, becoz the Mark Penn I thought was Mark Penn was the genial, amiable thin cheeked man with glasses who shows up on round table discussions and all.
I tried googling in multiple ways to locate this person I thought was Mark Penn, but it kept showing up the jowly dude with the weird hair on the WSJ sketch. Imagine that.
Who the heck is the other Penn guy, with the grin and the Partridge family hair.
I last saw him on BBC with Kirsty Lang, and I got worked up becoz I thought Kirsty was putting on the guy with the lobbying cloud, who made millions and sold out Hillary.
So I still dont know who the Mark Penn with the Partridge family hair is.
But Gail is right about the social safety net, women's right, health, children and staying in the race.
That's why chicks like Carly Fiorina or the eBay lady are so not Hillary.
They rich and they set out to be rich and powerful and the lady who drives her car to the factory or to a shift in a hospital, and sometimes drives to a neighboring town to work, and then goes home and handles her family is not going to solve her problems by suddenly making $100 million dollars or floating a successful share offering.
We need chicks who are comprehending of what real world women and workers are going through, not the chicks who make millions and think everyone just has to be smart like them and nobody will have to worry about health care or social safety net for them, becoz they have 5 homes on three continents.
Somebody earlier in the blog suggested the female governor of Alaska, I will have to check her out.
I also like Katherine Sebelius from Kansas, and since Barry's grandparents are apparently from that, that would be lovely too.
I dont like Jim Webb or some other white hawk guy, it would make it too easy for the nuts to lust after that guy to get the job, better have a straightforward leftie chick. Then we will have a nice 2 term president.
Barry can win on his own, not with Jihadi Webb and his Viet wife rattling around in his wake.
Let's see what Webb achieves in the Senate besides being a counter point to macaca.
So Barry Obama won his nomination and Hillary won the States she did and Barry won the States he did
so what was the big whoop de do, we do have a nominee, everybody did get to vote, even those whose votes are only gonna be half or allocated by telepathy or whatever, everybody did vote.
At least we know stuff now, like Montana voted for Obama, this is important to know, at least now we have a nominee, we dont have to listen to the same morons who kept saying to truncate the process tell us that Barry was coronated or crap like that, or Caroline Kennedy was having an affair with him, or Maria Shriver or all kinds of moronic stuff.
He won whatever he won, including some fairly white and sunburned states, so who knew. Montana apparently has a few things in addition to its spectacular scenaries and cowboys and Ted Turner.
This is all good.
It is also fine that Barry is black, great that many people feel happy about this. Now he has the nomination, just win.
Becoz we dont want it to be a symbolic moment and then wait another 20 years before somebody wins.
But I think we are fairly used to black people being leaders, the surprise is so few leave their safe Congressional districts to run for Senate.
Maybe now it will happen.
