All candidates do not forget the security card, which means
Baitullah Mehsud, untrustworthy Pakistan, Sudan, Somalia and Kenya.
All are imperative.
Bye bye

The other big winner in Iowa was the blog or newspaper or whatever it is called Politico
Imagine that. Nobody was waiting for the NYT or even signing on to see what the result was. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
OK, I am sorry I laughed at them, becoz my chances of getting a job with them is now bust. They signed on Bill Kristol to write a column for them. Double ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
I turned on BBC and CNN to see the results. DW was not gonna be help I figured. But BBC came through as did CNN.
BBC had Matt Frei and I immediately got the results without waiting and he was talking to John Harris of Politico.
CNN also came through and I saw John King and Anderson Cooper, also Donna Brazile, and others.
Then I saw Wolf Blitzer.
Then John Roberts and Kiran Chetry and John was talking to Jim Vandehei from Politico.
I had been mad at Jim Vandehei for months and years becoz he played gotcha with Wesley Clark in the first campaign interview and ambushed him with a question about the Iraq war vote that got the peaceniks mad and had Wesley Clark scrambling over and over for clarifications.
But now I figure that is a reporter's job, to play gotcha, even if occasionally it is somebody on our side and if the thinking is not clear, well, then it is to focus the mind of the candidate.
So now I think Jim Vandehei is OK and I saw Politico on 2 international channels, so it was a winner.
Also, I saw the Iowa caucus news almost immediately on Times Now which teams up with Reuters and is a local Indian channel.
This is very good that they are not just paying attention but also being prompt, becoz people waking up Friday Morning in Mumbai would want to have that information.
So thanks to all the channels who brought it to us and also kudos to Politico and Jim Vandehei, you're in the clear now, only try not to be a weasel but be a mensch and if you are gonna play gotcha, try to pick on somebody who deserves it. Preferably. Or at least report the nuances.
Bye bye

Congratulations Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee for winning their Iowa caucuses last night, both were
worthy victories and we proud of both of you.
My candidate Bill Richardson came in 4th and I dont know about Fred Thompson 3rd in Repubs except to say scary as heck.
Puh Leeze.
Barack and Huckabee are pretty OK.
I could get used to having a handsome or a funny president respectively, I could sure get used to it, it would be easy.
Security card: here's what I think, they better bone up on Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and Kenya.
They should know who is Baitullah Mehsud and if the CIA dont have him in their cross hairs, the American people should be asking why.
Huckabee tax plan I do not understand, but economic populism, I do. I like the good things he did in Arkansas, including making money while he was Lt. Governor and made speeches. Anybody who knows how to make money is now an official genius, also his grace in taking the triple wide trailer and all that. I remember it from Jay Leno from many years ago and also saw him on Jay Leno last night. He was even funnier than I remembered, I could get used to him,
Bill Clinton didnt make much money while he was Governor of Arkansas, Hillary had to work, so there.
I wish Huckabee had mentioned that he became Governor when the previous Governor had to go to jail, he said resigned, that was a little tame and also the part where the previous governor almost retracted his resignation and Huckabee called the State Guard or national guard or state troopers or someone and practically forced the issue.
Anyhoo.
I also let it go that Huckabee made a seeming goof on eastern vs western borders in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pak is on the eastern border of Afghan, everybody knows that, so if Huckabee said eastern, I thought he was talking about Afghans defending their eastern borders, though the tribal areas are Western to Pakistan.
But I think Huckabee will have the time to figure out east and western and I hope he finds out who is Baitullah Mehsud and why the CIA should have him in their cross hairs and be coordinating with the Pakistan Government but not too closely on our getting him.
In fact, I hope both Barack and Huckabee know that coordinating anything with the Pakistan government is fraught with risk and has big problems, which is the ISI and moles in the army find out and stooge us out to their jihadis in the tribal areas, they do not want America to win, they hate India and Shias.
Try to learn those little nutshells, they are very important
1 - Baitullah Mehsud - Bad, bad guy
2 - ISI, Pakistan army riddled with stooges
3 - do not spill all your secrets to Pakistan, they will rat you out
4 - do not give them money without close supervision
5 - make independent plans to get the bad guys
OK, those suffice for now, African nations will follow, I will figure out a short notes to communicate.
Both should have a strong position on Sudan, Somalia and Kenya and its not necessarily the obvious one.
In Sudan, for instance, Islamists not so bad, in Somalia, Islamists bad and in Kenya, they should be making peace within the country and having a recount. How a recount will root out ballot stuffing, I dont know. Ask Richie Haas.unt
